Carnival Out of Season Rio de Janeiro

Acting governor sanctions bill that provides for off-season carnival in RJ.

Rio de Janeiro will win an ‘off-season carnival’, in July, annually. In the calendar of official dates of the State, “CarnaRio“ will be added, to stimulate tourism.

Law 9.174 / 20, by deputy Dionísio Lins (PP), was sanctioned by the acting governor, Cláudio Castro, and published in the Extra Official Gazette last Tuesday (12/01).

In the text, the governor says that the purpose of CarnaRio is “to stimulate tourism, leisure and, above all, to boost the economy with the creation of jobs and the sale of products and services”.

It is also determined that the celebration, which will take place in the middle of the year, should count on the participation of the leagues, associations, carnival blocs and also the Secretary of State, responsible for Culture in Rio de Janeiro.
